Make someone's day Monday

Hello! So I have been doing a lot of thinking lately and I have decided to start a little thing I call..."Make someone's day Monday!" I have always loved helping others and making people smile...but some how have gotten caught up in the busyness of life that I haven't been doing as much as I would like. Life can be tough...yet we have such an incredible power to leave a lasting impression...to make someone's day better! So, every Monday I am going to do some random act of kindness and hopefully it will make someone's day a little brighter! And what better day than Monday...the beginning of the week (a day that many people dread)!

Last Monday, I just sent out cards to some family members and friends to let them know that I was thinking about them, loved them, missed them, and hoped that they would have a great week! It's always nice to get something other than a bill in the mail, right?!? =) This Monday, I stopped at Dairy Queen on my way home from work to surprise Andy & Alaina with a chocolate malt (which totally made their day!). Plus I payed for the car behind me...which I am sure made their day too :). What a great feeling and fun 'hobby'!!!

Happy Monday everyone!

2 Months

What is happening? My baby boy is growing up way TOO fast! I seriously can not believe he is two months old already! He had his two month well child check up and vaccinations last Tuesday and things went really well!

He weighed in at 13 pounds 9 ounces, putting him in the 90th percentile.
He was 23 3/4 inches long, once again putting him in the 90th percentile.
And his head circumference was 40 1/2 cm, putting him in the 75th percentile (shocking for a Duhn baby...I know :)!!).

Landon also received three shots and one oral vaccination and did really well with them!!! No extra fussiness or really any changes...which was SO nice!

He continues to have 6 bottles a day, smiles a lot, likes to cuddle, and sleeps from 10/10:30 until 6:00 most days. He is growing like a weed and keeps us busy! He attends daycare for two days a week and seems to be doing very well as is his big sister. Although, Alaina's teachers informed us that she had asked about Landon at least 20 times on Thursday. She wanted to know if he was doing okay! I hope they like each other this much forever =). Haha.

Alaina LOVES to draw, and so I thought I would leave with one of her more recent drawings. It is a picture of her Aunt Kim. Alaina informed me that the scribbles on top are Kim's hair and the 'writing' in the top right hand corner say "Kim". This is a pretty good portrait...we just might have to make a copy of this one and send it to Kim?!? :)

Our Mini Vacation

I am a little late posting this week...as it has been a crazy week and we have had a lot going on! So, this post is going to be a big one! Last week we went back home to visit family for a few days before my my dear friend, Shelle's, wedding...and this week I went back to work!

Alaina was so excited to go to Grandma and Grandpa's...she could hardly wait to get out of the house. She definitely had a blast spending time with Grandma Duhn, Grandpa Chuck, Great Grandma Kane, Great Grandma and Grandpa Duhn, Grandma Poe and Bapa! She also had lots of fun playing with the Malm kids (including Matthew and his daycare friends) and cousins Evan & Ava! She is still talking about it all!

And Landon got to meet lots of new family members on this trip (which meant lots of cuddling and spoiling)! =)

Four wheeling with Dad (I'm not sure who enjoyed this more...Alaina or Andy!?!). Andy gave Alaina a tour of the farm on this four wheeler and she enjoyed every minute of it! She was thrilled to be able to see real live cows and was sure to tell me all about it :).

Alaina also had fun with Bapa on the four wheelers. However, I believe here they are just pretending to ride. Haha. Bapa took Alaina on a tractor ride later though which she thought was pretty cool.

On Friday afternoon Andy, Landon and I headed to Belmond to check in to our Bed & Breakfast (there were no hotels nearby) before the rehearsal! Below is a picture of Landon and I in our room at the Klemme House. We had never stayed in a Bed & Breakfast before...and we were shocked by the whole experience. The room was beautiful and spacious...the bathroom was awesome, the fire place was nice and it felt SO clean and homey! The inn keepers were incredibly kind and the breakfast was amazing!!! So if you are ever in the Belmond, Goodell, or Klemme area and need a place to stay, we would highly recommend the Klemme house!

And here a few pictures from Josh & Shelle's wedding! It was truly a beautiful day and I couldn't be happier for Shelle. Josh is an incredible guy and they make a great couple!

On top of all of this excitement, I have also started back to work. It was definitely bittersweet. Great to be back to work for such a great company and amazing coworkers...but sad to leave the kiddos! However, they seem to be thriving! Fortunately, it is only a part time gig...so we all get the best of both worlds! Landon also had his two month vaccinations this week and is doing very well! I will try to post a little more about that later! Hope you all have a great weekend!

XOXO

Surprises

As most of you know, we have to pay a minimum weekly rate for Alaina whether she is at daycare or not. So we just started sending her one day a week to get her back in the routine of going and today was the day she went. Andy dropped her off and I picked her up. Alaina has been a big daddy's girl lately...wanting daddy all the time, so I wasn't expecting her to be too excited to see me. BUT...she was so excited and so gracious. She even said "Mommy pick me up today? Wow...thank you so much for getting me today mommy. It's sunny out...and I like sunny." AND she surprised me with this flower. How nice!

And Landon...he had a few surprises for me today too. The first one was a big blow out (poopy diaper). Nice...huh? Haha. So, I cleaned him up the best I could and thought he needed a bath after seeing all that poop ALL OVER. So I put him in the warm tub...and he gave me big smiles! The camera was nearby so I took this picture quickly as I thought "how nice...giving mom big smiles after that!" I figured he had to be smiling because he felt much better...or...to make it up to me =).

But looking back, I'm pretty sure he was smiling because he was thinking, "hehe...I got poop all over...why not pee all over too." And then he peed all over (which he very rarely does!)! I think I liked Alaina's surprise a little better...okay a lot better! =)

Smile

Guess who is smiling?!? Yes our little Landon is giving us all kinds of smiles these days...and I love it! =)

As you can see, Landon isn't the only one smiling around here. Alaina is full of smiles too. Here she happens to be smiling about her artwork and my reaction to her saying "Oh my lanta, Mom look at my artwork.....oh my laina.....oooh my gramma!" Haha. I have no idea where she comes up with some of these things. She recently started saying "oh my lanta" and for some reason, today, she decided to fill in "laina" or "gramma" in place of "lanta". Gotta love that ornery smile!

As if I don't have enough to smile amount, this sleeping beauty below gave me even one more reason to smile today....he slept through the night!!! I'm not expecting a repeat any time soon, but I was very excited and grateful to have 7 straight hours of sleep last night! =) Thank you Landon!

And now that I have posted twice in one week...I hope you all are smiling too!

Smiling is infectious,
You can catch it like the flu.
Someone smiled at me today,
And I started smiling too.

Ahh...it's been a while...huh? Haha. I, for some reason, have such a hard time finding time to blog...BUT...I am going to try this again. I know that someday it will be so nice to look back on and to have documentation of all the fun and crazy things going on in our lives! So, wish me luck! My maternity leave is almost over and I will be returning to work soon so hopefully I can find a few minutes here and there to keep the blog updated weekly! We have been SO blessed and I am just trying to enjoy every last minute with my babies =).

Anyway so here is our newest family member, Landon! I can't believe that he is 6 weeks old already! Seriously the time goes WAY to fast! I truly believe that second children grow up even faster than first...or it seems like that anyway!

Alaina is such a good big sister and is completely smitten by her baby brother! Which I love! She is such a big helper and will do anything.. if it is for Landon. We'll see how long this lasts =)!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
